Thread Vein (Microsclerotherapy)

Thread Vein – Microsclerotherapy is the technique used to treat spider veins or thread veins of the legs. It is a relatively straightforward procedure which involves injecting a liquid into the veins which destroys them and causes them to disappear over time.

Thread Vein (Telangiectasia) are small red or blue veins which appear on the legs, caused by numerous factors including genetics, sun exposure, pregnancy, standing for long periods etc…

A thread vein is treated by injecting a sclerosing agent into them using a very fine sterile needle in order to cause an irritation to the lining of the vessel. This in turn causes the walls of the vein to close down. The body’s own immune system then biodegrades the collapsed veins and expels them as a waste product.

The majority of affected veins will fade and disappear over time boosting your confidence to wear your favourite bikini or dress!!

The number of treatments required will be dependent upon the severity of the problem. Can take approx. 5 treatments at 8 to 12 weeks apart.
