Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) is used by athletes to decrease recovery time and improve performance and by people seeking recovery from musculoskeletal pain. Other reported benefits include weight loss and reduced inflammation. There have also been reports of WBC helping post-cancer patients, dementia sufferers, reducing anxiety / depression, improving eczema and treating migraines to name a few.  WBC is also good for mental health and wellbeing. With each treatment, endorphins and serotonin are released, which lead to us having more energy and being in a good mood.

Cryotherapy tricks the brain into thinking it is hypothermic, which stimulates your immune system and boosts your metabolism. The body scans itself for poorly functioning parts and heals itself rapidly. Your blood circulation will improve, and the production of serotonin and endorphins (natural painkillers and feel-good substances) and natural anti-inflammatory processes will be set into motion.

Cryotherapy has been around since the late 1970’s in Japan and literally means ‘cold therapy’. Whilst inside the chamber, the body is surrounded by a -160ºc liquid nitrogen mist for a maximum of 3 minutes. It is a dry, non-invasive, treatment, designed to speed up recovery and improve overall wellbeing.
