Reiki

Reiki is a type of energy healing, emphasising the release of certain energy, which can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or even emotional pain. If left over time, these energy blocks can cause illnesses, therefore, reiki can activate the body’s own self-healing process, helping to reduce stress, anxiety and low moods.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone therapy is a specialist massage that uses smooth, flat, heated basalt stones that are positioned along your spine, in the palms of your hands, along your legs and between the toes. Warm stones will be placed on key acupressure points on the body, the stones warm and relax the muscles, allowing deeper pressure to be applied during the massage. Origins of hot stone therapy can be traced back to over 2,000 years ago, when the Chinese used heated stones as a means of improving the function of internal organs.

Reflexology Massage

Reflexology is a type of holistic therapy that involves applying gentle pressure to the feet by working along specific zones, which correspond to certain organs and systems of the body. Similar to acupuncture and acupressure, reflexology connects spots on the outside of the body to the inside and is complimentary to medical treatments.

Pregnancy Massage (Pre / Post Natal)

Pregnancy massage is a type of massage therapy specifically designed to be used during pregnancy. Pregnancy massage may help relieve some of the aches and pains of pregnancy.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that focuses on treating musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue. Furthermore, it may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage is Swedish massage therapy using specific massage oil, which contains essential oils (highly concentrated plant oils). During an aromatherapy massage, essential oil molecules are inhaled and absorb into the body through the skin. Aiming to promote beneficial changes in both the mind and body by affecting the limbic system, a region of the brain known to be involved in emotion.

In addition, the main benefits of the aromatherapy massage are reduction of stress and anxiety, decrease in muscle tension and pain relieve. It also helps to reduce the symptoms of depression, control the inflammation and help with headaches.

Moreover, it can help to manage the pain of many conditions such as fibromyalgia, which is a condition that causes increased sensitivity to pain all over the body, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic lower back pain, insomnia, and more.

Swedish Massage

When providing a Swedish massage we aim to improve the body’s circulation and promote relaxation through soothing the muscles. Therefore, our techniques involve soft strokes over areas which are more prone to pain, or without much muscle coverage. Where the muscles are thicker, the pressure is changed and the massage is deeper.
